Thanks so much for the great feedback and we are glad to hear you and your cats love the freeze dried food!

Regarding the tripe for cats, from the perspective for healthy bacteria repopulation in the gut, the benefits should be the same as for dogs. There has not been the same research conducted for cats on the benefits of tripe as there has been for dogs. So we can’t definitively say they will experience the same benefits but there is no reason to expect the benefits would be dramatically different.

Hello, first of all thank you so much for having freeze dried food for my cats. We don’t have a freezer so it’s ideal for our situation! I have recently spent a few weeks shifting my 2 older cats to a raw diet and use Feline Natural to make sure they get all the nutrients they need in between the other things I feed them (they love lamb heart and chicken necks). I’ve heard so many good things about the benefits of tripe and I’m prepared to brave the smell to give it a try, would the Freeze Dried Lamb Green Tripe from your K9 Natural range work for my cats too?

Hi Vicki, thanks for commenting. We totally understand tripe and a 1 bed flat wouldn’t be a great combination.

Have you tried freeze dried tripe? When the tripe is freeze dried it reduces the strength of the smell significantly.

I have been feeding my staffie for 3 days on tripe now, never again as my 1 bed flat stinks 2 high heavon, especislly the stinkbombs thst escspes from her bottom afterwards & they make her so “hypo”.I took her out with her ball today I have never seen run so fast, like a whippet, ,understand it being full of goodness but there is other things u can buy for your dog without the foul smell

Tripe definitely does have an abundance of nutritional goodness. When we describe a nutritional complete and balanced diet, this is as defined by AAFCO (Association of American Feed Control Officials) and is required to satisfy a specified nutritional profile. As tripe isn’t defined as a complete and balanced diet we cannot recommend this to compose as significant a portion of your dogs diet as 50%. This is why we recommend 10-15% or once a week, as it means your dog will have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits (and taste!) of tripe without missing out on the full nutritional profile of our complete and balanced diets.

Hi Mike

You say above to feed your green tripe only 10-15% or once a week. I had been feeding my dog your beef and chicken. The gave him the tripe…after that he would not touch beef and chicken on it’s own, so I am mixing it together. 50% chicken, 50% green tripe. You say green ‘tripe is not a nutritional balanced diet”, but it has so much goodness in it… is 50-50 of each product going to be fine?
