It has been about 2 weeks since we introduced K9 Natural into Nala’s diet. She is now stabilized and has been for about a week and a half at 15 units of insulin feeding half K9 Natural and half traditional kibble. She is down a total of 3 units of insulin, her blood glucose is stable, her energy level is great and there are noticeable differences in her stool.
We are excited about all of this and are looking forward to the final transition to all RAW which we are going to do next week. It is absolutely possible to transition a canine’s diabetes diet to something that is species appropriate and provides added benefits.
We are so excited to think that we have finally been able to do something for her that will benefit her instead of just sustaining where she was and keep her alive. More to come after the final transition…….
